Broadway Street is located in Downtown Nashville, 16 minutes away from the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center.
More than likely, if you either drive yourself or take a taxi to Broadway, you’ll arrive at Lower Broadway which is where all the bars, music museums, and shops are located. It’s what people think of when Broadway Street in Nashville is mentioned.
Pictured below (left of the Cumberland River image) is where you’ll first arrive in Lower Broadway. The street will be ahead of you and the Cumberland River will be behind you (middle).
I refer to Nashville as the other city that never sleeps mainly because of Broadway. Like in Times Square, there are always people walking around, no matter the hour of day. On Broadway, most bars are open until 3AM Monday-Thursday, open until 5AM on Friday-Saturday, and are open until 3AM or earlier on Sundays. See! Nashville never sleeps, either!
Attractions on Broadway
-
Tootsie's Orchid Lounge (the lavender building in the images)—This bar has 3 floors, 3 bars, and 3 stages for bands to perform. It’s one of the biggest, oldest, and most famous bars on Broadway and is always packed with people. Country artists like Willie Nelson and Patsy Cline played here. It’s also located right next to the Ryman Auditorium!
Luke’s (Bryan’s) 32 Bridge—Similar to Tootsie's, 32 Bridge has 4 levels with bars on each one. There’s also a rooftop bar that looks out to Broadway. The menu serves dishes like steak, salmon, wings, and more. And at 32 Bridge, there’s always a chance Luke Bryan will show up to play!
There are also other bars named after country stars: Jason Aldean’s Kitchen & Rooftop Bar, Miranda Lambert’s Casa Rosa (specializes in Mexican food), and Blake Shelton’s Ole Red.
Legend’s Corner—Legend’s is a great place to see local musicians. On their website you can find which locals are playing each day and hour. Only 21 and up are allowed in after 6PM. This is the first bar I stepped foot in on my Nashville visit. (In fact, the heading picture for “Is Nashville Your Scene?” is a picture of a performer at this bar!)
There are so many more bars on Broadway than just these select few. You could make a whole day out of bar hopping.

Grand Ole Opry Hotel
(Yes, every building you see in the above picture is part of the hotel!)
The Grand Ole Opry Hotel or the official name, Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center, is the largest hotel in Nashville. There are 2,800 rooms and four gigantic atriums with glass ceilings so you can see the outside. Although, the sidewalks and plants in all the atriums make it feel like you’re outside all the time anyway. Even though this is a hotel, anyone can walk in just for a look around; you don’t have to show you’re a guest.
The Cascades is the atrium you’ll be looking into when you’re in the hotel lobby. There is a waterfall, live plants all around, sidewalks, and two restaurants to eat at. On one side is a restaurant, The Falls, that serves alcohol, soda, and little snacks like Chex Mix and BBQ chips. On the other side is a restaurant buffet, Cascades American Buffet, that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. There’s also a sushi bar.
The Cascades also houses Relache Spa & Salon where you can get massages, manicures, pedicures, and hairstyling.
There’s also an indoor and outdoor waterpark, but you have to purchase a swimming package for Sound Waves if you want this added on experience. However, there is another outside pool that can be accessed without a swimming package.
It would be impossible for me to explain every little detail about this hotel. Because it’s so huge, there are so many places to discover and places to eat. Fuse is a sports bar in the District atrium where there are small shops (one of them is called Savannah’s), that sell jewelry, shoes, dresses, shirts, boots, hats, bejeweled belt buckles, and any other country clothing item you can think of. There are also other shops in other atriums that mainly sell souvenirs that have Nashville, Tennessee plastered all over them.

Pictured above is another atrium (Delta Atrium), where there’s a Delta Marketplace. There are more shops here like a souvenir shop, a men’s formal wear shop, a women’s boutique, and a toy store. There are also some food options, those being: Auntie Anne’s, Stax (burger joint), a little deli to pick up snacks, a pizza place, and an ice-cream parlor.
Many different events happen in this atrium. Some activities I’ve done here are take an indoor Gondola ride on the river, watch a Princess and Pirate musical fight on the river, and watch the water light show (in the picture above where you can see blue lights in the back).
The Delta Atrium also houses Old Hickory Steakhouse, or The Library, which is an expensive steakhouse.
If you want to know more about each atrium, visit here: Nashville, Tennessee Restaurants | Gaylord Opryland Resort
One of the most convenient things about this hotel is you can walk from here to the Grand Ole Opry. There’s a sidewalk that leads directly to the Opry, it also passing Opry Mills which is the huge mall across from the Opry.
Below is a map of the hotel:
If you ever want to book a room, go to the website below! (I’ll warn you now, it’s more expensive than other hotels, but so worth it!)
Murals
Murals are a HUGE part of Nashville. They are everywhere! Because Nashville is run by artists and creatives, buildings give artists opportunities to show off their work. They’re also great to take pictures next to so you can commemorate your time in Nashville.
So, I’ve decided to show you some murals and their locations so you have quick access to a cool pic.
